I am excited to announce the launch of Pattern Change Lab!!!

Over the past year it has been resoundingly clear that the status quo is not working. There has been a shift in thinking, expectations and the possibilities that our society can be equitable and just. We need a paradigm shift. We need a pattern change in our approach to addressing the climate crisis.

In order to seize the moment we will have to shift how we create, design and develop policy, advocacy, analysis and engagement. Creating new patterns that provide a stronger foundation for collaboration and partnership rooted in equity and justice are essential if we are going to meet our environmental and social goals.

Our vision is to create pattern change in the climate and environment systems for greater and effective impact using an equity and justice lens.

The Pattern Change Lab challenges existing patterns that are obstacles to transformative systems change in the climate and environment systems. We focus on the design and development of patterns that lead to effective processes which lead to transformative change in policy, advocacy, analysis and engagement.

Our foundational principle is that pattern change is rooted in equity and justice from the start. The current pattern(s) used in the climate and environment to address the climate crisis are not leading to transformative systems change in policy, advocacy, analysis and engagement. We will challenge, develop and design intentional pattern change in the climate and environment systems that will create equitable and just policy, advocacy, analysis and engagement.

Our mission is to develop and design pattern change to transform the climate and environment system for people and planet using an equity and justice lens.

In order to create transformational change within our systems we have to change the patterns that we use to create them. The patterned relationship among constituent parts of climate and environment is formed by policy, advocacy, analysis and engagement. The functional relationship between these “levers” essential if we are going to meet our environmental and social goals.
