In Search of Causes, Effects and Solutions for Migration
Over the next year I will be visiting Senegal, Nepal and Sri Lanka to listen and learn from the communities on the front line of migration. My interest is in the areas of irregular and labor migration. As the migration rages across the globe, and the messages regarding it focus on the receiving country's impacts, I want to learn about the causes, effects and solutions from those who are in the best position to know.
There is a has to be a nuance to the issue of migration that is being ignored thus undermining the opportunities for a robust discussion that could contribute to a robust discussion rather than a lightning rod for greater division. I say has to be because it is is hard to believe that people just leave everything that they know for the great unknown without reasons.
